Volunteer rescues street cat called Desmond

Desmond was rescued by our neutering volunteer at Cats Protection Mid Kent branch.
He is currently in the care of New hope animal rescue. Poor Desmond has had a wretched life on the streets, without shelter, for three years when our branch were called to ask us to help.

He was very sick cat. Desmond was full of fleas and had abscesses on his cheeks. He had scratched himself silly with claw marks all over his face trying to relieve the pain.

Desmond was one very distressed cat.   Head nurse at Bearsted vets told us it was the worst case of neglect she had ever seen.

The good news. He is so much better, he has calmed down and one very affectionate cat now that he is out of pain. He still has a little way to go and needs lots of tender loving care. However he hes been transformed from the condition he was in when from when he entered the verterinary hospital.

Desmond is loving the soft bed, three meals a day to build him up, and is not scratching any more, all the fleas have gone. He has become the darling of the vets nurses who take turns to cuddle, stroke and groom this beautiful street cat.

Our branch is searching for a home for Desmond.  He is not FIV,  but we hope that after all he has been through we want to find a home without other cats. Desmond needs a compassionate owner who understands cats.  How cruel can people be to abandon such a beautiful cat. Sadly he is not the only case of abandonment we hear of.

If you can give this cat a forever home where he will be safe and loved, please let us know.   As with all CP cats, he is innoculated and neutered.  He just needs a break in life.   Desmond doesnt know it but he has been one of the lucky ones thanks to our volunteer Sherie and the work of the Bearsted team.

Thank you.
